At our meeting on Tuesday 10th February (6.30 pm in the Committee Room at the Town Hall – what used to be New Hall) there will be a presentation about the origins of Bawtry. Published histories tell us that Bawtry was created as a “planted town” (i.e. a new, planned town) by the Normans. But – might it be older than that? Much older ….? Why not turn up? Everyone is welcome.
