Corporal Freddie McBroom, of 2008 (Bawtry) Squadron RAF Air Cadets wrote an essay about Bawtry Hall’s use as an RAF Headquarters duringand after World War II. He was the 11 to 15 year old winner of Bawtry Heritage Group’s Essay Competition which formed part of the Bawtry Arts Festival week in June 2023.
