Local History Fair on 30th September 2023

Bawtry Heritage Group attended the Local History Fair at Doncaster Museum on 30th September 2023 which was organised by the Doncaster District Heritage Association.

It was a great success sparking energetic discussion and showcasing our current activity to a broad range of people keen to view, and question the team on hand. In particular our material on the Town Heritage Trail, Bawtry as a port, its connection with a long since past Saxon battle, and the more modern genesis of our Scout Troop were all topics discussed and revisited throughout the day. Much praise and interest was voiced for our recently launched website with the public not only able to view it but to explore it for themselves.

The team’s conclusion at the end of the day was that our inclusion in the DDHA feels very worthwhile and may well have more to offer.
